Proverbs 18:22 “Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD.”
Any man who is well-married can fully endorse the reality of this verse.
Our wives are not only a great blessing to us themselves, but can also provoke us to actions that bring blessing.
Simply put: they cause us to be a better men and better servants of Christ.
While some verses in Proverbs make note of the problems an ungodly wife can cause, we see exactly the opposite of a faithful wife.
God said that it was not good for a man to dwell alone and therefore set up a system of mutual blessing for husband and wife. It appears the husband may be the greatest recipient of reward.
A faithful wife can make a man soar to great heights. She builds him up and shows by her Godliness (not necessarily words) where he must work to do better.
It is her meek and quiet spirit that often prompts him to choose actions that bring blessing to the entire family.
Finding a person like this to share our lives with is a blessing indeed.
