Ruth 2:8 “Then said Boaz unto Ruth, Hearest thou not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:”
Boaz discovers that he is related to this Moabitish woman who has come to glean in his field.
Ruth is the daughter in law of Naomi, who was the wife of his kindred, Elimalech.
He commits to protect and help her to get the food that she needs. Even instructing his young men to let some handfuls fall behind on purpose.
This widow has found a kind and generous kinsman. One who has all the resources he needs to provide her and her mother in law sufficient help.
Ruth has also found someone who trusts in the Lord. Who lets her know that he trusts the God who has seen everything she has done.
Boaz says God is a rewarder of those who do the right thing, like Ruth has done in standing by and taking care of Naomi. And he is confident God will bless her.
This man knows whereof he speaks. And as we’ll notice as we continue, will be the key person used by God to be the blessing.
