Isaiah 12:2 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.”
Twice in this verse God is declared to be our salvation or our deliverance.
He provides means for victory over fear. Whether it be dangers that can harm us in this life or the eternal danger of condemnation for sin.
God, in a loving and graceful way, delivers (through His son) if we will but trust Him.
The man who has faith finds God more and more to be faithful.
He may safely lean upon His strength, all the while building in joy, finding his Deliverer deserving of a song.
His name means strength to us, for He shields and protects.
In a world that brings enough difficulty and hardship to frighten any man of flesh and blood, He provides courage. We don’t have to be afraid.
The key may be reminding ourselves of passages like this one. Those that tell us who He is, that speak His name, emphasize its meaning, and declare what He can do on our behalf.
