Psalm 11:7 “For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.”
How much do we truly understand that God loves to see us succeed in our service for Him?
Sometimes our hearts are set on seeing Him only as unhappy for our wrong and never delighted with our right.
This is not God’s fault, it is ours for misunderstanding who He is and what He finds pleasure in.
We have often focused too much on His hatred for sin, not remembering the blood of Christ which covers us, and come to view Him in our mind as always-disappointed.
In reality, He is rather looking forward to our success in serving Him and disappointed only when we refuse to operate by the means He gives us, choosing sin.
He has given us all we need to live victorious through Christ and He wants to see us take advantage of this power.
We must look to the tasks we are assigned within God’s church as opportunities to delight Him in His love for righteousness.
Let us think about his countenance when we do right, as he beholds the evil and the good, loving the good.
Perhaps these realizations would help us to press on, successfully, for Him.
