Isaiah’s vision in this chapter is one we find difficult to comprehend.

He has seen the Lord sitting upon a throne. And seraphim crying “holy, holy, holy.”

Their words are Isaiah’s experience. He has come into the presence of total set-apartness. And all he can say is “Woe is me!”

While God is in the process of changing Isaiah, as He changes all who follow Him, he remained a man of unclean lips.

He was undone before God. Without any covering for His sinfulness.

But he came before One who can cleanse. A God who can change men and make them worthy of entering His presence.

This is all through the sacrifice of His only son, which Isaiah could only see afar off at this point, but that would make a way for his sins to be washed away.

Entering the presence of holiness reveals things for us. Chiefly it reveals what a wonderful God we serve.
