Joshua 3:17 “And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.”
There is something about the language of this verse that brings to mind a picture of what it means to trust God.
The priests of Israel “stood firm on dry ground.” The people of Israel passed over on “dry ground.”
We know men and women with faith are always on firm footing, providing their faith is in the One True God.
Rivers still overflow. Natural barriers still stand in our way. The current still threatens to pull us under.
But we are ever in danger and never at risk.
He is our rock, He is our fortress, and He is our firm foundation.
His protection and deliverance are never in doubt, and His promises never fail!
The story of Israel teaches us these lessons. It reminds us to step out boldly in faith and greet the joy of promises kept on the other side.
Joshua 3:17 “And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.”
