This was an amazing day. The day “the sun stood still in the midst of heaven.”
This is the kind of day that is denied by those who reject or don’t understand our God.
Perhaps they don’t acknowledge that He is the Creator of all things, including the earth, and the sun, and the heavens?
Perhaps there is some misunderstanding about the fact that He spoke them all into existence, where before there was nothing?
Or perhaps the doubter, doesn’t believe that He is all powerful – holding all things in heaven and earth together?
But Israel knew, and we know this God. And on the day recorded here, the five kings of the Amorites caught a glimpse as well, as the Lord fought for His chosen people.
This chapter is worth a second reading if you ever struggle to trust the all-powerful, almighty Creator. The One who, as recorded in Isaiah 40, used His hand to measure the sky.
What a day, indeed, but what a God!
