Psalm 145:19 “The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth. He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.”
The first word that came to mind when considering this truth was sincerity.
Calling upon the Lord is easy and we may often find ourselves doing it with little thought.
We would do well to give greater consideration to our prayers, measuring at all times their sincerity.
Do we really believe God will work in a particular way because we asked Him to do so?
We understand His word clearly states that He will, upon the condition that we are walking in accord with Him.
Even the desires of our hearts may be granted if we will only come to Him with devotion and honesty, remembering what kind of God He is.
The greatness of this assurance should not slip past our notice. The Lord will act on behalf of His children, because He both loves and desires the best for them.
Let’s ponder the significance of this today, then re-evaluate our prayer lives.
