Proverbs 8:8-9 “All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge.”
Righteous words find their origin in scripture and righteous concepts are accepted and relayed by the Godly.
These righteous words and ideas are readily grasped, if those receiving them are committed to honestly discovering what God has to say.
The opposite is likely and unfortunately also true. Those who have little interest in understanding, reject God’s way.
Some would rather see God’s word through the lens of their own desires, and they find it confusing, complicated, and wrong.
That which is good and Godly is, on the other hand, “plain” to those who are seeking it with integrity.
We should beware of coming to God’s word with a fleshly bias.
It is the intervention of our own sinful desires that confuses the plain truth, and takes us farther away from knowledge and understanding.
I wonder if this truth is plain to us today?
