Job 10:8 “Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me.”
Readers of this book will know what’s behind the troubles that Job is facing.
We know about God’s interaction with Satan about Job. And about the freedom Satan has been given to afflict him.
We also know about God’s comments on Job’s character – that he is a blameless and upright man.
While we have the advantage of reading the full story, Job is lacking this awareness himself.
He is struggling through his thoughts and feelings on facing these hardships.
In this section and others, he addresses God about them.
We know God is not destroying Job. But Job is not so sure.
I wonder if we ever believe the One who shaped us and gave us life is working against us?
If we do, we should remind ourselves that we don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes. But we know that God loves us, and that He wants what’s best for us.
While we can bring every thought and feeling to God honestly, we should also take truth into account. He is good all the time.
Our enemy is a destroyer. God is the giver and sustainer of life.
