Job 13:15 “Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”
Anyone reading this chapter understands the difficulty Job is facing at this point in his life.
Many of us look at the loss of his family and his posessions and even his own health and wonder how he can continue trusting.
He has gone through more than most of us can imagine going through.
But he does continue in his trust for God. And he doesn’t just commit to trusting at that moment. He says, even if God slays him, he will trust Him.
We heard him express the reason at the beginning of the book, when he said “the Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Not only did the Lord give him his family and his posessions and his health, but he gave him life too.
God is trustworthy and He has seen every secret place of Job’s heart. That’s why Job can argue his case before Him.
He can fully trust no matter what comes. For God can do as it pleases and everything He does will be right.
I wonder if we can say we are trusting God, with Job, in this way?
