Psalm 20:7 “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.”
Good planning, good organization, and good equipment are important for anyone with a task to do.
If we are headed into battle, we would be wise to work on all three.
The question is: are we reliant upon the equipment or upon God to grant victory or success?
We know that we have a tendency to rely on that which we can see and forget that which we cannot. This passage urges us to remember the Lord.
We put our hands and hearts to work in the battle, building and maintaining worldly tools that are not insignificant, but lack all power to help without God.
Our trust must be in Him for guidance, wisdom, and empowerment.
Many throughout the scripture that were defeated by God’s servants were also equipped with all the best tools of the world.
Pharaoh was destroyed along with his chariots and horses, Goliath, with his size, experience, and armor fell, and Jericho, surrounded by walls and shut up before Israel became helpless.
The victory was gained by the Lord and those, not as well equipped, but remembering the Lord.
