All that is in the world

I John 2:15-16 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”

Those of us who know Christ as Savior still have to live in the world every day.

Because this is the case, we can begin to think only of worldly things, they can consume us, and they can crowd out the things of God, which we understand from the Bible.

If we feed worldliness, we can become lovers of this world.

The world is characterized by three things: the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

These things come natural to us. That is why we must rely on Christ to turn from fleshly desires, look above, and embrace humility.

When we look to God first, we turn from what is natural to embrace the supernatural. We learn to love Him and to have the proper perspective on worldly things.
