John 6:49-50 “Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.”
Many of us spend too much time dwelling on this life. We try to improve it, try to extend it, and certainly try to avoid losing it.
No doubt some effort should be dedicated to preservation of life.
If we’re doing it correctly, we are using it to glorify God and to point others to life beyond this earth!
The blessing of manna in the wilderness was a blessing indeed, but it was temporary. It gave strength to the body that was then used for whatever purpose the one strengthened chose.
It was up to the people of Israel to believe God and invest their effort in doing His will.
His physical provision was important. But if it did not turn people to God and to the Messiah He promised to send, it had no lasting value.
Embrace Jesus, the bread that comes down from heaven. Not bread that is here today and gone tomorrow.
