Job 29:2-3 “Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness;”
Sometimes the path seems a little darker than it was just a few months ago.
In the midst of grave difficulty, like that which Job was facing at this moment, the way forward can be difficult to see.
The complexity of our thoughts and feelings in these times, often clutters the mind. It can be hard to gain clarity.
We can look back, longing for the enlightenment of days gone by, or we can simply trust God at that moment.
In this chapter, as in several previous chapters, Job is talking it through.
He lays things out honestly. We also see that He knows God can shed light enough for His next step.
We can speak before God honestly too, but we should do so with humility and in full surrender.
The other option is to doubt, to wonder if God is really good, and to rely upon our own strength and wisdom.
This is not the right option.
