Psalm 27:14 “Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
If we have any recent experience with waiting on the Lord, we can likely say with certainty that it is not easy.
We often have a template in our minds that dictates how we think God will work, but we are usually wrong.
Perhaps we believe God is going to do something sooner that He actually does it. But He has a timeline of His own and we have little influence over Him for changing it.
Courage and strengthening are needed, because a man who waits in fear fails to trust the Lord, not recognizing He desires what is best for us.
Sometimes we simply have no choice but to wait. At other times we attempt force progress by taking matters into our own hands.
Don’t bother examining the word “wait” in the original language, hoping it means something other than wait, because it does not. We must wait.
Let us be patient in God’s leading and confident in His timing.
Doing this will bring the courage and strength of heart mentioned here, while anything else will almost certainly disappoint.
