John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
Jesus has spoken for several verses of this Comforter. Here we learn He is the Holy Spirit.
Jesus says He will dwell within those who believe. And in Jesus’ absence will be every disciple’s teacher.
Not only will He make it possible for us to understand what the Bible teaches, but He will bring its teaching to our minds when we need it.
In the same section, Jesus speaks much of keeping His commandments out of love for Him.
It is the Holy Spirit that empowers us to keep these commandments.
He abides with us forever and makes a successful Christian life possible.
Our responsibility is to submit ourselves to Him, to allow His will to rule us. To give Him control of what we think and say and do.
This is what the Bible calls “walking in the Spirit.” It should be the standard for everyone who has faith in Christ.
