Genesis 5:23-24 “And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.”
This is one of the more intriguing passages in all the Bible.
The fact that God would leave us so few words about a man that was so obviously close to Him is fascinating.
Perhaps the Lord is revealing much by saying little about Enoch.
The simple fact that he walked with God is a revelation of His faith, devotion, and character.
The question will always be asked: why did God take him?
We only have a little evidence from Hebrews, in the New Testament (chapter 11 verse 5). Perhaps it had something to do with His great faith?
God, in any case, did not allow him to taste death.
We must turn this mystery and our interest into an encouragement or even a motivation.
We know those who walk with God are blessed.
Enoch’s translation to heaven and a lasting testimony of faith are proof of his blessed life.
Would our testimony include “he walked with God?”
