Matthew 28:5-6 “And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”
It was dawn toward the first day of the week when Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the sepulchre.
If you recall the words of Jesus from earlier in this gospel, you’ll know that He said that He would die and raise again.
There was confusion about and even some opposition to this concept from His disciples, but what He said was now coming to pass.
The angel speaking to these women plainly declares it: Jesus is risen, just exactly as He said.
Not only that, the angel rolled the stone away and invited them to look.
The risen Savior would also appear to them – and many other disciples – making the reality of it certain.
There are many infallible proofs of Jesus’ resurrection. The truth of all He said was confirmed in this amazing, supernatural event.
We serve a risen Savior. Alive forever more.
