Sin and defeat can leave a lasting impression. But they can also become the platform from which a second chance is launched.
Israel, with the sin of Achan in the past, could move forward to victory, embracing the plan of God.
The promise of God was still valid, despite its delay.
With a renewed sense of confidence, Israel could enter the battle with no fear and no dismay.
I wonder if we use the platform of our defeats in the same way?
Do we let the hurt and regret of wrong choices cause future hesitation?
If sin is resolved properly and thoroughly, there is no need to doubt.
We serve a God of abundant mercy, who provides every sinning child the opportunity to start again.
Final victory was promised to Israel, and it’s promised to us. How will we use the defeats along the path?
