Matthew 1:23 “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
The fact that a virgin would be with child is only the beginning of the wonders of this account.
The son this virgin would bring forth would be called “God with us.”
The One True God, entering the world He created, to interact with a people that rebelled against Him daily.
Not coming to condemn this cursed generation, but to save it.
Though the wonders of His deity were often on display, many (even His own people), would reject Him.
Such hate would build against Him that He would be falsely accused, and die a criminal’s death, in our place.
He did all of this willingly. It was part of the plan.
God with us would die, be buried, and raise from the dead to give us new life in Him.
The greatest true story ever told began here, as a carpenter is told his espoused wife Mary will bring forth a Savior, to fulfill this, and many other prophecies of old.
