Luke 7:8 “For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.”
We’re told that Jesus marveled at the faith of this centurion.
He sent one of his servants to seek healing for another servant that was still at home, but sick and ready to die.
The centurion was a man who knew how authority worked. And he was certain that Jesus had the authority to say but a word and his servant would be healed.
More than simply believing in what Jesus could do, he believed in who Jesus was. In His person. In His position.
It was right for the centurion to believe in Jesus this way. He recognized, embraced, and was living and speaking according to the truth.
In just the way he expected, his servant was healed. And what Jesus ordered to be done was done.
The Lord over life and death and the human body of every person struggled not with healing long distance. For He had the power to make it happen.
