Luke 17:5-6 “And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.”
Much has been said about the size of a mustard seed, and for good reason, they are tiny – only 1 to 2 millimeters in diameter.
From this we gather that it is not the size of our faith that makes the difference.
It is rather, the object of our faith that counts.
If a man has faith, even a little, in a God who has unlimited power, making requests according to His will, big things can happen.
We don’t have salvation because our faith is great enough to obtain it. We have salvation because we have placed all the faith we have in a Savior who is great enough to have obtained it for us!
The emphasis is always on the Savior. Let us come to Him with all the faith we have and let Him handle the rest.
