When dealing with a person who gets angry easily, we may hear the phrase “that’s just the way I am.”

There’s no doubt anger is one of the first reactions of the flesh. But if there is a consistent, unrestrained hastiness to anger, that person is indicating, themselves, that they are foolish.

This is a harsh and sad reality, but it helps us zone in on the real problem. Instead of dealing with the symptom of anger, we need to deal with the character flaw of foolishness.

Fools can be uninformed, careless, stubborn, conceited, and indifferent to God and His will. They act before thinking, ruled by their own desires.

Christ and His graceful, powerful work of transformation will always be the solution. He alone can supply the strength to counteract these wrong attitudes and dispositions.

The foolish man must open themselves with humility to God’s working and leading. He must turn from sin in repentance and repair any damaged relationships.
