II Thessalonians 2:16-17 “Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.”
Our comfort through difficulty and our spiritual growth are only possible through Jesus Christ and God the Father.
He is directly involved in our lives, lovingly and with grace, working to make us what He desires.
It is our daily walk with Him that allows us to cope with hardships and makes it possible for those hardships to shape our character.
Our consolation is everlasting, it continues through our lives and will last an eternity in heaven. Our hope is established because of grace, this undeserved gift that allows us to see beyond circumstances.
This understanding of comfort and hope sets a foundation for diligent service. We never do work for Him unassisted or unequipped.
