Galatians 6:10 “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
This is a great everyday reminder for all who know Christ.
We have opportunities. This is not to say we recognize every one, have the desire to take them, or find them convenient.
Still, if there are people around us daily, there are opportunities.
This verse commands us to make the best of them by doing good.
The word for “good” used here can also be regarded as useful, pleasant, excellent, or honorable.
These other uses for the word may help us to know how (specifically) we can interact with others.
To do the useful thing might be to pitch in and help. To do something pleasant may mean a smile or a kind word.
If we do something excellent, we may be keeping our word and going beyond. And to do the honorable may be to offer heartfelt gratitude.
Whatever that “good” thing is, we ought to do it often – and especially to other Christians.
