Hebrews 9:22 “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”
Things have not changed. After the first sin, God brought Adam and Eve animal skins to cover their nakedness.
God has always required the shedding of blood, first as a covering, and now (through the blood of Christ) as a cleanser for sin.
We can’t explain why blood is God’s chosen tool for atonement, yet we know that it is.
It may be a representation of the taking of innocent life.
During the Old Testament sacrifice, an animal died for the sins of another, not its own.
Jesus Christ died for the sins of all men, even though He knew no sin himself.
God never simply wiped away sin, He only transferred the penalty to another.
His holiness requires a judgment; praise God our judgment was laid upon Jesus, who overcame it for all eternity!
Anyone who has not embraced their replacement, should do so today.
He has taken our sins and our punishment upon Himself and is the only blood sacrifice sufficient to cleanse our sin.
