Experience tells us that we have a tendency to return to our lives of sin.
Those who have trusted Christ have no reason to do so, for we have all the equipment we need to live victorious over our former master.
The problem is, if we were to admit it, we sometimes enjoy sinfulness more than righteousness.
This enjoyment is only a deception, because we also know its pleasures are only for a season and have dire consequences.
The moment we feel tempted to forsake the right and return to our old ways, we should recall the deception of it.
It polluted our lives and entangled us, requiring a sacrifice to be made on our behalf.
Christ paid the cost. How can we now turn from Him?
We should instead devote ourselves to thankful and worshipful service.
