Psalm 63:1 “O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;”
Many of us may struggle with seeking after God in this way.
If we examine statements such as this from Psalms and other passages, we may find it difficult to relate.
This type of thirst for God does not come to humans naturally.
We must come to grips with the inadequacy of our own character and realize we need God before we can reach this level of longing.
This is a longing that is typically brought on by difficulty or heartache, yet it should not be so.
If we could realize our need for God daily, recognizing the futility of our own efforts, we could develop a thirst beyond measure.
If we were to dwell on the magnificent splendor of our God each morning, we may have no trouble desiring His input by noon.
Let us establish patterns in life that lead to concentration on Him, in the place of anything else.
