Ephesians 5:15-16 “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”
Walking circumspectly and redeeming the time are hard and constant jobs.
As we read this exhortation we must think again of how broad the scope of our Christianity should be.
Indeed the entirety of our lives (moment by moment) ought to be spent for His glory. We do not have time to catch our breath or lay down our armor, as the battle rages twenty four hours every day.
We cannot afford one day of neglect, for tomorrow will bring spiritual struggle we cannot foresee.
Though life often makes us weary, we should never fail in vigilance, redeeming every waking moment in this evil age.
It is fools that fail to walk circumspectly, while the wise take careful account of their time and use it well.
This reminder should prompt examination in the life of every disciple. It is a passage that demands we pay attention and take stock.
Evil demands our attention at every turn and we must avoid it, set our eyes on Christ, and move with purpose in the direction that He leads.
