Hebrews 10:23 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
Christians around the world are persecuted and pushed to the margins of society for our belief in Jesus.
We are mocked for our manner of life, our trust in the word of God is questioned, and our Savior is disdained.
These attacks, and the everyday rigors of discipleship, can cause us to waiver, but this verse says don’t do it.
We must take our eyes from circumstances and turn them the Savior – the One who is faithful.
It is drawing near to Him and growing our confidence in His character that will sustain us.
The “full assurance” mentioned just a verse earlier is possible when we know Him.
We can hold firm and remain unmoved, not because we have the strength to hold the reigns oursleves, but because we have handed the reigns to the One who has all strength.
When tempted to waiver during tests of our theology or trials of life, let us look to Savior who promised.
It is by His blood that we have been cleansed of our sin and brought nigh unto God. There is no reason for doubt.
