Nehemiah 6:16 “And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.”
The wall of Jerusalem was completed by the people of Israel, under the leadership of Nehemiah, in just 52 days. A verse earlier, the news is reported that the wall is indeed finished.
The details of its building are a study in organization and efficiency. And Nehemiah can be considered a model for leaders everywhere. But it is not building strategy or technique that the enemies of Israel think about when they hear of it. They perceived that it was done with the help of God. They were right about this. God made it happen.
He put the right leadership in place. He gave Nehemiah just the right experience. He put ideas into his head, equipping him to instruct and give vision, and inspire the people. The building of this wall is not about Nehemiah. It is about God and the fact that He uses people like Nehemiah to do big things in impossible time frames, for His glory.
