Psalm 85:2-3 “Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger.”
What a wonderful feeling it is to know that God has forgiven our sin!
When His wrath is turned away from us, we get a great sense of freedom, and have a peace that passes all understanding.
We find that our most miserable times in life come when we place ourselves, voluntarily, in opposition to Him. We can only find comfort when we repent and restore our fellowship with Him.
The chastening of the Lord often comes in the form of this troubled mind.
Sometimes the most effective means the Lord has to turn us back to Him is the weight of His displeasure with us. This is what often makes the joy of our restoration so powerful.
It would be best to limit our disobedience, maintaining a constant, quality fellowship with the Savior. Let us remember when we do turn back to sin, God is full of grace and mercy.
