Acts 13:2 “As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them.”
God has not stopped calling men into His service. And the work he calls today’s missionaries to do is very much the same.
As we read in following chapters both Barnabas and Saul went about preaching the gospel, making disciples, and planting churches in the places He sent them.
We are reminded as we read that God had the entire plan in mind before He called.
These two men had no idea what was in store. They were following His leading and trusting His wise hand.
He knows the victories and the defeats ahead. And not only hears our prayer at the moment of challenge, but understands beforehand our thoughts and our reactions.
He holds everyone He calls in His hands. It is His responsibility, because He does the calling.
If men selected by God will simply and humbly do what He asks, magnificent things will happen.
The missionary stories in this book serve as a wonderful testimony of this fact.
