John 11:41-42 “Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me. And I knew that thou hearest me always: but because of the people which stand by I said it, that they may believe that thou hast sent me.”

Lazarus was about to be called forth from his grave – and he would indeed come forth alive.
Jesus raised Him from the dead to show those watching, and those of us reading this text, that God sent Him.
This display of His power was for our benefit. Isn’t this just like our Savior? Providing us with reason for confidence and offering reassurance?
This world, our own flesh, and our enemy will ever lead us to doubt. But He thinks of us. And He bids us to trust.
When we do, we (like Martha), see His glory.
The stories of His miraculous work in our lives should be shared. The “people which stand by” may need to hear them!
