II Peter 1:3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:”
We don’t have much room for excuses according to this verse. All the equipment we need for doing what God wants is already in our hands if we will just utilize it.
This passage gives all who will put their faith in Christ hope to live victorious Christian lives.
No doubt we will still find it difficult and wage spiritual battle in many circumstances, but Christ gives us full access to His wisdom and His power.
While the world searches for ability and understanding, finding only that which man can muster, disciples of Christ are fully equipped by their Creator.
Let us not just affirm this as fact, treating it like a simple, theological truth. Instead, we should personally embrace it for every day we live as His disciple.
He has called us, therefore He gives us what we need. We will no doubt falter and fail at times, but this assurance should give us profound hope.
