I Timothy 2:5-6 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
There are not many paths to God. We cannot come to Him through religious activity, good works, or membership in any religious organization.
One man alone can bring us to the Father and that is the Son – Jesus Christ.
Salvation from death and hell is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
The word for mediator here (in part) means: “one who intervenes between two, either in order to make or restore peace and friendship.”
It was Jesus alone who could die in our place, as a perfect sacrifice for sin, making it possible for us to be right with God. To have peace with God. To be called a friend of God.
His free gift of salvation continues to be on offer today.
We cannot, we must not attempt, to come to Him on our own terms, but instead must trust in Christ and Him alone.
