Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
This is often called the Great Commission of the church.
Jesus makes it clear His disciples must go about teaching, baptizing, and making new disciples. This is our assignment, but it’s also our joy.
People who have been transformed by coming to know Jesus are compelled to tell. And as we grow in our knowledge of the scripture, we want to share that knowledge.
Jesus reminds us of something wonderful as the chapter ends: He will be with us.
No matter the challenge as we evangelize and teach and minister, He is there.
I wonder how often we remind ourselves of this command?
Are we actively teaching others to observe everything God commands?
This was Jesus’ mandate. It ought to be one of our key priorities every day.
