I Peter 1:7 “That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:”
How many of us consider trials precious?
The truth of this verse is not just academic. It is not something that we affirm simply because it comes from the Bible. It is something we can (and do) experience.
Many of us will tell and have heard tell of testimonies that begin with trial and end with praise to the Lord.
These experiences are “more precious than gold.” They are valuable to us because of the work they accomplish in our own lives and because of the impact they often make in the lives of others.
As we place our faith in Him, during these times of testing, we see His character clearly. He is a comfort and reassurance to us and to anyone who sees and hears and knows.
We must trust Him in trials, because He is faithful, and because faith – in the most difficult of circumstances – will glorify Him.
This is why fiery trials of faith are precious.
