Luke 9:57-58 “And it came to pass, that, as they went in the way, a certain man said unto him, Lord, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest. And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.”

An expression of intention to follow Jesus is admirable. I wonder if this man understood what it would mean?
Jesus made at least one thing clear: his life would lack comfort.
The life of a disciple is often uncomfortable. Jesus calls us to walk the narrow road, to be a living sacrifice, to deny self, and to take up our cross and follow Him.
We know that those who live Godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. And what our forebearers faced, wandering in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
But we don’t follow Jesus to obtain a life of comfort and ease. Our comfort comes from within – for that’s where our Comforter dwells.
