John 9:35-36 “Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God? He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?”
This man was healed of blindness by Jesus. But he had also been interrogated, then cast out by Pharisees.
He’s not certain who healed him, apart from knowing his name – Jesus. And according to this, he’s not certain who the Son of God is either.
Despite coming face to face with the Savior, hearing His instructions on how to be healed, and then receiving sight – he’s still lacking something.
In the next verse, Jesus makes it clear. The Son of God? “It is he that talketh with thee.”
Now he understands and believes, worshiping God.
Like many of us, we come with a certain willingness, perhaps we have even seen the works of God. But we need that final piece – to know who He is.
It’s true – and there’s no doubt – He is the Savior. Our Savior.
