John 20:30-31 “And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book: But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”
This is often called the purpose statement for the gospel of John. Jesus did much more that was worthy of recording.
These specific accounts are included to proclaim the reality of the saving power of Jesus, God’s only son. And they are presented that we might believe.
The only way to eternal life with God is through Christ. Those who believe not, face eternal death.
This makes John an important book and its message an important message.
Believe in Jesus and have life. Much more can always be said, should often be said, but if one is short on time, this will sum it up.
They could be the most important words a person ever hears and embraces.
