The term Christian is important to us. We are called Christians because we follow Christ.
These believers were given the name first because of their deep devotion – and we must carry on their heritage.
We may see deceivers, those teaching a false gospel, bearing it wrongly. And this is sad. Many purposely take it on for its credibility.
Some have come to my door claiming this name, but have proven by their belief they were none of His.
If we take on His name, we have a responsibility to live in accordance with His will.
We do harm to the name Christian when we live worldly, disobedient lives.
It would be sad indeed if those of us who are truly “in Christ” let Him down.
We ought to take the example of this early church. They gave their lives totally to the Lord and were recognized for it.
