Psalm 29:2 “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name; worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.”
There is a thought in this verse that we don’t often consider. We should glorify the Lord, simply because He is due the glory!
If we think about all the Lord is and all He has done for us, we can’t help but conclude that glory is deserved.
The things we often give ourselves credit for, like graduating from college or getting a good job or getting a promotion, are only possible because He has given us the mind and the strength to accomplish them.
We are equipped and empowered by Him to do all the things we do and we can therefore take no glory for ourselves.
God is deserving of the praise for every good thing we have now, or the things we could imagine for ourselves in the future.
We must begin by admitting this and then do all we can, at any time we can, to praise His name in our homes and communities.
To glorify Him is to properly reflect His attributes in the world. Let us with words and deeds commit to this worthy endeavor, daily.
