II Thessalonians 1:3 “We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;”
Paul, Silas, and Timothy were aware of, and thankful for, the growth of the people at the church in Thessalonica .
What an encouragement it must have been to write these words.
Their faith was growing. Their love was abounding.
The character traits they were developing, were exactly those God intends for every individual in His church.
This spiritual development was cause for thanksgiving and an example for us.
The words “exceedingly” and “aboundeth” here are both words that mean going beyond. These disciples were growing in faith in a major way. Their charity and love were super-abounding.
I wonder if we can report this kind of growth, individually and in our church? Or are we simply maintaining the status quo?
Perhaps a passage like this would prompt us to examine our development as a disciple and push us on to take the next step.
II Thessalonians 1:3 “We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;”
